The site is represented by the Ublianka river stream in the Beskydy Mts. foothills. Riverine communities bordering the water stream feature the presence of Matteutsia struthiopteris and Telekia speciosa that create the separate association characteristic only for Eastern Carpathians. Geological basement is formed by fluvial sediments of the Dukla unit. Ublianka stream belongs to the so called grayling zone of Uh River in Zakarpatská Ukraine. This fact reflects in high biodiversity of the water stream (occurrence of 21 native fish species).

1. Important site for protection of the alluvial riverine communities with the typical species in teh undergrowth, i.e. Telekia speciosa and Matteutsia struthiopteris. 2. Important site for protection of teh initial plant communities in gravel sediments. 3. Important site for protection of high biodiversity of fishes.

Biggest antrophogenous interventions in the site are related to existing village settlement along the water stream and agricultural yards, which both negatively affect the water quality in the Ublianka stream. Except one village, the others do not have the sewage canal system constructed, so sewage water from households flows directly into the water stream. The muck leaks into water from agricultural yards located along the whole water stream very often. Partial intervention from side of the local citizens into the existing riverine vegetation, mainly by wood cutting, is visible.
